It was a dream of late Shri Bhikhabhai Saheb and Shri Bhaikaka that there should be colleges of all faculties in this educational campus.

So under the leadership of Shri H.M.Patel Saheb and by great devotion of Kalaguru late Shri Ravishankar Raval, Kalakendra was estlablished in 1960.
In 1964, institution was started with 45 students of Drawing Teachers Certificate course (DTC) of one year.

After short time, college was running Drawing & Painting, Sculpture and Commercial Art courses. In 1972-73, the government closed all the external courses and gave recognition of a full flaged fine arts collage as Kalakendra College of Fine Arts in 1973-74.


Today, after 40 years, eminent industrialist and famous donaer of Nadiad (Dharmaj) Shri Indubhai Patel Ipcowala donated to Charutar Vidya Mandal, Vallabh Vidyanagar.
Shri C.L.Patel Chairman, Charutar Vidya Mandal, Prepared a big new building with modern facilites for the institution at the approximate cost of Rs.1 Crore.

And today , It is renamed as IPCOWALA SANTRAM COLLEGE OF FINE ARTS.
